Adjustable Brightness – 25%, 50%, 75% or 100%

The supplied remote control allows the light intensity to be selected at 25%, 50%, 75% or 100%.

This provides flexibility to balance the required illumination with battery use. A lower brightness setting can be selected where maximum output is not required, while the full-output setting provides up to 5,000 lumens.

The brightness settings are separate from the microwave sensor's choice of holding-light behaviour.

Selectable Microwave Motion Sensor

The floodlight incorporates a microwave motion sensor that can be activated or deactivated to suit the application.

When the sensor is enabled, two operating patterns are available.

30% Holding Light to 100% on Movement

The floodlight provides a 30% holding-light level while the area is quiet. When movement is detected, it increases to 100% output.

After 60 seconds without further detected movement, it returns to the reduced holding-light level.

Off to 100% on Movement

The floodlight remains completely off between detections and switches to 100% output when movement is detected.

After 60 seconds without further detected movement, the floodlight switches off again.

The sensor can also be disabled where motion-activated changes in brightness are not required.

Automatic Timer with Daily Memory

The timer can be programmed to switch the floodlight off 4, 6 or 12 hours after it automatically activates at dusk.

The system remembers the selected setting and repeats the cycle each day, avoiding the need to reprogramme the timer every evening.

The available timer settings make it possible to select an operating period around the hours when the area is used.

Separate 50W Monocrystalline Solar Panel

The package includes a 10V / 50W monocrystalline solar panel, connected to the floodlight by the supplied 4.5m cable.

Keeping the panel separate from the floodlight allows the solar collection position to be considered independently from the direction of illumination, within the limits of the supplied mounting arrangement and cable length.

Position the panel with good exposure to sunlight and minimal shading. The floodlight can then be directed towards the area requiring illumination.

Replaceable LiFePO4 Battery

The system uses a 6.4V / 24,000mAh LiFePO4 rechargeable battery, equivalent to a capacity of 24Ah.

The battery stores energy collected by the solar panel for use during the lighting programme. It is replaceable, allowing battery replacement to be considered separately from replacement of the complete lighting system.

Contact Wydels when a replacement is required so the correct compatible battery can be identified.

Choosing Your Lighting Column

The package is available with 3m, 4m, 5m or 6m above-ground column heights. Select the height and mounting arrangement around the site layout and required lighting performance.

Column height, floodlight position and motion-sensor coverage should be considered together. The solar panel also needs a position that provides suitable exposure without obstructing the intended illumination.

Root-Mounted Columns

Root-mounted columns include an additional lower section installed below ground within a suitable foundation.

The 3m, 4m and 5m columns have an 800mm root section. The 6m column has a 1,000mm root section.

Flange-Plate Columns

Flange-plate columns are bolted to a suitable prepared foundation. These versions use a 300mm × 300mm flange plate with 200mm × 200mm bolt centres.

Flange-plate foundation anchor bolts are sold separately. Confirm the required foundation and anchoring arrangement before installation.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is included in the solar floodlight column package?

The package includes one 40W solar LED floodlight, one 50W solar panel, a replaceable LiFePO4 battery, the selected galvanized lighting column and mounting hardware for the floodlight and panel.

A remote control, 4.5m panel-to-floodlight cable and column door key are also included.

Flange-plate foundation anchor bolts are sold separately. Installation, groundworks and concrete foundations are not included.

Does this package include one or two floodlights?

This listing is for a single-floodlight package.

Twin solar floodlight column packages are available on request. Contact Wydels with your site details and lighting requirements for a suitable configuration and quotation.

Enquire about the twin option.

What is the difference between the 40W floodlight and the 50W solar panel?

40W is the floodlight's maximum LED power, providing up to 5,000 lumens.

50W is the solar panel's rated power. The panel collects solar energy to recharge the battery; it is not an additional light source.

Can the brightness be adjusted?

Yes. The supplied remote control allows brightness to be selected at 25%, 50%, 75% or 100%.

This allows the light level to be selected around the application rather than always operating at maximum output.

How does the microwave motion sensor work?

With the sensor enabled, the floodlight can remain off or at a 30% holding-light level between detections.

Movement activates 100% output. After 60 seconds without further detected movement, the light returns to the selected holding state.

The microwave sensor can also be disabled when motion-activated operation is not required.

Can the floodlight remain completely off until movement is detected?

Yes. Select the Off-to-100% motion-sensor mode. The floodlight remains off between detections, increases to full output when movement is detected and switches off again after 60 seconds without further activity.

What timer settings are available?

The timer can switch the floodlight off 4, 6 or 12 hours after it automatically activates at dusk.

The system remembers the selected setting and repeats the cycle automatically each day.

Does the package need a mains electricity supply?

No. The lighting system operates from its solar panel and rechargeable battery, so a mains electricity connection to the floodlight is not required.

The column still requires a suitable foundation and installation, and the supplied cable connects the solar panel to the floodlight.

What battery is supplied, and can it be replaced?

The system uses a 6.4V / 24Ah LiFePO4 rechargeable battery, equivalent to 24,000mAh.

The battery is replaceable. Contact Wydels for advice on identifying a compatible replacement when required.

How long is the cable between the panel and floodlight?

A 4.5m panel-to-floodlight connecting cable is included.

Plan the equipment positions and cable route within this length, allowing sufficient cable for routing and connections.

What column heights and mounting options are available?

Choose a 3m, 4m, 5m or 6m column, supplied in either root-mounted or flange-plate form.

The quoted height is the above-ground column height. Root-mounted versions include an additional buried section.

Are the flange-plate anchor bolts included?

No. Flange-plate foundation anchor bolts are sold separately.

The included mounting hardware is for attaching the floodlight and solar panel to the column. It does not include the bolts needed to anchor a flange-plate column to its foundation.

What are the dimensions of the floodlight and solar panel?

The floodlight measures 350mm high × 250mm wide × 50mm deep.

The solar panel measures 400mm high × 670mm wide × 20mm deep.

Are both the floodlight and solar panel rated for outdoor use?

Yes. Both the floodlight and solar panel are IP65 rated.

The floodlight is supplied in 6000K daylight white.

What warranty is supplied?

The solar floodlight is supplied with a 3-year warranty.

Contact Wydels for the applicable warranty terms and information relating to the other package components.
