The TitanBase™ Ducted Precast Foundation Block is a purpose-designed concrete foundation solution for lighting columns, helping to reduce on-site groundwork, simplify cable management and provide a robust, repeatable base system for commercial lighting and CCTV projects.
Manufactured from a CEM I C40/50 concrete mix and weighing approximately 750kg, the TitanBase™ has been developed for use with flange-plated lighting columns from 3 metres to 5 metres in height, using M16 fixing centres at 200mm x 200mm. Each unit includes integrated cable ducting points, forklift pockets, lifting points and supplied fixing accessories, creating a complete and practical foundation solution for lighting column installations.
Suitable for above-ground or below-ground installation, the TitanBase™ is ideal for external lighting applications such as car parks, commercial yards, access roads, industrial estates, temporary or semi-permanent site lighting, security lighting, CCTV column installations, pedestrian areas and general lighting column projects.
Unlike a standard concrete kentledge block, the TitanBase™ has been designed specifically around lighting column installation. The integrated ducting points allow electrical cabling to be routed into the base and up through the column, helping installers achieve a cleaner and more professional installation while reducing the need for additional ducting alterations on site.

Each base unit includes 4 No. 60mm diameter ducting points on each side of the block, plus 1 No. 95mm diameter top ducting point for cable entry into the lighting column. This allows incoming supply cables to be routed cleanly into the block and up through the column. Each ducting point is supplied capped when delivered.

Traditional lighting column foundations usually require excavation, formwork, reinforcement, duct positioning, poured concrete and curing time before the column can be installed. This can add time, labour and uncertainty to a project, especially where multiple lighting columns are being installed across a site.
The TitanBase™ provides a more controlled alternative. As a precast foundation block, it arrives ready for positioning, helping contractors reduce the amount of wet works required on site. Once the block is installed and correctly positioned, the lighting column can be mounted using the supplied M16 fixing accessories and the appropriate installation method.

Integrated Ducting for Cleaner Cable Entry

Each unit includes 4 No. 60mm diameter ducting points on each side, allowing cabling to be brought into the base from multiple directions depending on the cable route and site layout.
A 95mm diameter top ducting point allows the cable route to continue from the base into the lighting column. This helps to avoid messy cable routes, exposed cabling or additional on-site modifications to the foundation block.
Each ducting point is supplied capped when delivered, helping to keep the unit clean and protected prior to installation.

The TitanBase™ is designed for 3m to 5m flange-plated lighting columns with M16 fixings at 200mm x 200mm centres. However, final suitability should always be assessed against the specific project requirements before installation, especially where the installation includes larger luminaires, multiple floodlights, outreach brackets, CCTV equipment or exposed site conditions.
If required, we can commission a project-specific engineering report to assess the suitability of the precast base unit for the proposed installation. This can take into account the site location, installation method, column height and the equipment being mounted to the top of the column. This service is available at an additional cost.

Installation Guidance
The TitanBase™ should be installed by a competent contractor using suitable plant, lifting equipment and ground preparation methods. The block must be positioned on a suitable prepared base, taking into account ground conditions, loadings, finished levels, cable routes and column orientation.
When installing the TitanBase™, contractors should ensure that:
• The base is correctly positioned and levelled
• Cable ducting routes are aligned before final positioning
• The column flange plate and M16 fixing arrangement are compatible
• The supplied M16 washers, nuts and nut caps are used as required
• The column is installed plumb and correctly orientated
• Any backfill, reinstatement or surface finish is completed to the project specification
• Structural suitability has been confirmed where required

Delivery & Offloading
Due to the size and weight of the TitanBase™, delivery and offloading requirements should be confirmed before ordering. Each unit weighs approximately 750kg and includes 2 No. forklift pocket slots and 2 No. M20 lifting points to assist with movement and positioning.
For smaller orders of up to 6 units, delivery would typically be made with each TitanBase™ supplied on a Euro pallet, using a tail-lift delivery service where suitable. Customers should ensure there is suitable access for a pallet delivery and that the delivery point is suitable for heavy goods offload.
For larger orders, or where site access, order quantity or delivery requirements make pallet delivery unsuitable, a dedicated delivery service may be required. This can be discussed and quoted prior to order.
For bulk project orders, Wydels can also offer a delivery service where the TitanBase™ units are delivered to site and offloaded using a Moffett forklift, with the base units placed in one agreed location on site.
Where required, we can also offer an above-ground positioning service. This is where the concrete base units are delivered and then positioned around the site in their required locations. Please note this service is for above-ground installations only and would need to be reviewed and quoted based on site access, layout, order quantity and project requirements.
