The 20W Solar LED Street Lantern provides off-grid exterior lighting for pathways, car parks, yards, residential areas and other locations where installing a mains electricity supply would be difficult or expensive.

Combining a solar panel, rechargeable battery, LED light source and automatic lighting controls within one fitting, the lantern provides reduced background illumination with motion-activated full output.

At dusk, the lantern switches on at a 30% holding-light level. When movement is detected, it increases to 100% output, returning to the holding level after approximately 20 seconds without further activity. At dawn, the light switches off and the battery recharges during daylight.

2,200 Lumens from 20W

The lantern provides approximately 2,200 lumens at full brightness, giving a published LED efficacy of 110 lumens per watt.

The maximum power and lumen figures describe motion-activated full-output operation. Between detections, the lantern returns to its reduced holding level rather than continuously operating at maximum brightness.

When specifying the lighting, consider both the background illumination required while the area is quiet and the increased light level provided when movement is detected.

PIR Motion-Sensor Operation

The 20W lantern operates in PIR motion-sensor mode only. Its automatic programme combines a reduced holding light with full brightness when activity is detected.

At Dusk – 30% Holding Light

As daylight fades, the lantern automatically switches on at approximately 30% output. This provides background illumination between motion detections.

Movement Detected – 100% Output

When the PIR sensor detects movement, the lantern increases to 100% output, providing additional illumination during activity.

After Activity – Return to 30%

After approximately 20 seconds without further detected movement, the lantern returns to its 30% holding-light level. Further movement activates full output again.

At Dawn – Light Off and Daytime Charging

At dawn, the LED light switches off and the solar panel recharges the battery during daylight, ready for the next night.

There is no separate selectable constant-light mode. The lantern uses the same holding-light and motion-activated operating sequence during normal night-time operation.

Integrated Solar Charging & Rechargeable Battery

The solar panel collects energy during daylight to recharge the lantern's internal battery. This allows the fitting to operate without a mains electricity connection.

The rechargeable battery supplies the LED light and controls during night-time operation. The reduced holding-light setting uses less energy than continuous full-output operation, while still allowing the lantern to increase its brightness when movement is detected.

The published charging time is approximately 6–7 hours of suitable sunlight. This is not a guarantee of a full charge from the same number of daylight hours in all weather conditions.
