40W Solar LED Floodlight with Separate Solar Panel – 5,000 Lumens IP65
40W Solar LED Floodlight with Remote Control & Microwave Motion Sensor
The 40W Solar LED Floodlight provides an off-grid lighting solution for yards, access areas, commercial premises, outbuildings and other locations where a mains electricity connection would be difficult or expensive to install.
Supplied with a separate 50W monocrystalline solar panel, replaceable LiFePO4 battery, remote control and 4.5m connecting cable, the system combines solar-powered operation with flexible brightness, motion-sensor and timer settings.
The floodlight delivers up to 5,000 lumens in 6000K daylight white. Select a reduced brightness level, use motion-activated full output or programme an operating period to suit the requirements of the site.
This listing is for one solar floodlight system without a lighting column. For installations requiring a column and the associated mounting arrangement, explore our 40W Solar LED Floodlight & Lighting Column Packages.

5,000 Lumens from a 40W Solar Floodlight
The floodlight provides a maximum output of 5,000 lumens from a 40W LED light source, with a 6000K daylight-white appearance.
The 5,000-lumen figure applies at full brightness. Actual light output during operation depends on the selected intensity and motion-sensor programme.
For projects requiring background illumination as well as additional light during activity, the floodlight can combine a reduced holding level with motion-activated full output.
Selectable Brightness – 25%, 50%, 75% or 100%
The supplied remote control allows the light intensity to be selected at 25%, 50%, 75% or 100%.
This provides flexibility to balance the required illumination with battery use. Lower settings can be selected where full output is not required, while the 100% setting provides the maximum available brightness.
The selectable brightness levels are separate from the motion sensor's choice of Off or 30% holding light between detections.
Microwave Motion-Sensor Operation
The floodlight incorporates a microwave motion sensor that can be enabled or disabled according to the intended use.
When the sensor is enabled, two holding-state options are available.
30% Holding Light to 100% on Movement
The floodlight provides a 30% holding-light level while the area is quiet.
When movement is detected, the light increases to 100% output. After 60 seconds without further detected activity, it returns to the reduced holding level.
This setting provides background illumination between motion detections, with increased brightness during activity.
Off to 100% on Movement
The floodlight remains completely off between detections and switches to 100% output when movement is detected.
After 60 seconds without further detected activity, the light switches off again.
This provides an alternative where illumination is only required when the sensor detects movement.
Motion Sensor Disabled
The motion sensor can be disabled where motion-activated changes in brightness are not required. The selectable brightness and timer functions provide additional ways to configure the lighting around the application.
Automatic Timer with Daily Memory
The timer can be programmed to switch the floodlight off 4, 6 or 12 hours after it automatically activates at dusk.
The system remembers the selected setting and repeats the cycle automatically each day, avoiding the need to reprogramme the operating period every evening.
This allows the lighting programme to be selected around the hours when the area is normally used.
Separate 50W Monocrystalline Solar Panel
The system includes a 10V / 50W monocrystalline solar panel, connected to the floodlight using the supplied 4.5m cable.
The separate-panel design allows the solar collection position to be considered independently from the direction in which the floodlight is aimed, within the available cable length and mounting arrangement.
Position the panel with good exposure to sunlight and minimal shading, while directing the floodlight towards the area requiring illumination.
The solar panel measures 400mm high × 670mm wide × 20mm deep.
Replaceable LiFePO4 Battery
The system uses a 6.4V / 24Ah LiFePO4 rechargeable battery, equivalent to 24,000mAh.
The battery stores energy collected by the solar panel for use during the lighting programme. It is replaceable, allowing battery replacement to be considered separately from replacement of the complete floodlight system.
Contact Wydels when a replacement is required so the correct compatible battery can be identified.
Installation & Positioning
The standalone system can be considered for installation on a suitable wall, structure or existing lighting-column arrangement, subject to selecting the correct mounting hardware and fixings.
Both the floodlight and solar panel need to be securely supported. Confirm the suitability of the mounting surface, brackets and fixing arrangement before installation.
The 4.5m connecting cable provides flexibility when positioning the two components. Allow sufficient length for the actual cable route and connections rather than measuring only the straight-line distance between the panel and floodlight.
The floodlight measures 350mm high × 250mm wide × 50mm deep. Consider the proposed aiming direction and motion-detection area alongside the solar panel's exposure.
Installation is not included. For a new column-mounted installation, choose the complete package rather than the standalone product.
IP65-Rated Floodlight & Solar Panel
Both the solar floodlight and separate solar panel are IP65 rated for exterior use.
The complete installation should follow the supplied product instructions, including the mounting arrangement, connecting cable and electrical connections between the solar components.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is included with the 40W Solar LED Floodlight?
The system includes one 40W solar LED floodlight, one 50W monocrystalline solar panel, a replaceable LiFePO4 battery, a remote control and a 4.5m panel-to-floodlight cable.
A lighting column and column-specific mounting kit are not included. Complete column packages are available separately.
Is this a 40W floodlight or a 50W floodlight?
The floodlight is rated at 40W and provides up to 5,000 lumens.
The separate solar panel is rated at 50W. Its role is to collect energy to recharge the battery, not to provide additional illumination.
Can the brightness be adjusted?
Yes. The remote control allows brightness to be selected at 25%, 50%, 75% or 100%, allowing the light level to be selected around the application.
How does the microwave motion sensor work?
With the sensor enabled, the floodlight can remain off or at a 30% holding-light level between detections.
Movement activates 100% output. After 60 seconds without further detected activity, it returns to the selected holding state.
The sensor can also be disabled where motion-activated operation is not required.
Can it stay completely off until movement is detected?
Yes. Select the Off-to-100% motion-sensor mode. The floodlight remains off between detections, increases to full brightness when movement is detected and switches off again after 60 seconds without further activity.
What timer settings are available?
The timer can switch the light off 4, 6 or 12 hours after it automatically activates at dusk.
The selected programme is remembered and repeats automatically each day.
Does the floodlight need a mains electricity supply?
No. The system operates using its solar panel and rechargeable battery. A mains electricity connection to the floodlight is not required.
The supplied cable connects the separate solar panel to the floodlight.
What battery is supplied, and is it replaceable?
The system uses a 6.4V / 24Ah LiFePO4 rechargeable battery, equivalent to 24,000mAh.
The battery is replaceable. Contact Wydels when a replacement is required so the correct compatible battery can be identified.
How far can the solar panel be positioned from the floodlight?
The system includes a 4.5m connecting cable.
The usable separation depends on the cable route and the length required for connections. Plan both mounting positions within the available cable length.
What are the dimensions of the floodlight and panel?
The floodlight measures 350mm high × 250mm wide × 50mm deep.
The solar panel measures 400mm high × 670mm wide × 20mm deep.
What colour temperature and IP rating does the floodlight have?
The floodlight is supplied in 6000K daylight white.
Both the floodlight and solar panel are rated IP65.
Can I buy a complete package with a lighting column?
Yes. Complete packages are available with 3m, 4m, 5m or 6m galvanized steel columns, mounting hardware for the floodlight and panel, and a column door key.
Root-mounted and flange-plate column options are available. Twin floodlight column packages can also be quoted on request.
What warranty is supplied?
The solar LED floodlight is supplied with a 3-year warranty. Contact Wydels for the applicable warranty terms.
Can Wydels provide a lighting design using this solar floodlight?
Yes. Wydels provides a free professional lighting-design service to help determine suitable quantities, mounting positions and aiming arrangements.
